The Vale of White Horse has been ranked in the top 10 for local authorities with the most new builds in the UK since 2020.

Research conducted by 24housing.co.uk shows that the area came in at seventh with 228.7 house per 10,000 between 2020 and 2023.

West Oxfordshire also made the top 10 with a total of 2,510 in the period - 218 per 10,000 people.

In the nationwide review of construction rates, Stratford-on-Avon claimed top spot with 283.9 new buildings reportedly finished per 10,000 residents.

This converted to a total of 3,860 houses, addressing the increasing housing demands of its population of 135,964.

Ranked second was South Derbyshire, completing 3,000 new builds, which translated to 277.6 new houses per 10,000 residents.

Mid Suffolk and Harborough followed, finishing 2,670 and 2,530 houses respectively.

Completing the top five was Midlothian, boasting 251.4 completed new builds per 10,000 population.
