A newly opened Indian restaurant and cocktail bar in Oxford is giving away 50 free dosas to celebrate Pancake Day.

Dosa Darlings, located on 56-60 Cowley Road, started the giveaway at midday.

The restaurant offers the dosas in various flavours including masala, dates and almond, and blue cheese and truffle.

The restaurant, which opened its doors last Friday, is also offering 25 per cent off its food menu until February 23.

Their aim is to disrupt traditional Indian cuisine perceptions with a cocktail menu and South Indian inspired small plates.

Michael Raphel, owner of Dosa Darlings, said: "To further celebrate our recent opening, we thought what better way to treat the people of Oxford to our pancake-like dosas than a special giveaway on Shrove Tuesday.

"It’s a first come, first serve offering from midday, so get them while they are hot."

Dosa Darlings, which accepts walk-ins and bookings, operates from midday until 10pm Tuesdays to Saturdays and midday until 9pm on Sundays.

It also runs a click and collect service.

The restaurant is the latest addition to the JM Socials group, which has a well-established portfolio of eateries in Cheltenham like Prithvi, Bhoomi Kitchen, Holee Cow, and Bao + BBQ.
