Five Oxford restaurants have been named in the top 100 most romantic in the UK ahead of Valentines Day.
The restaurants to make OpenTable's list were Gees, No.1 Ship Street, Parsonage Grill, Quod Restaurant & Bar, and The White Hart at Fyfield.
According to a survey timed for the occasion by OpenTable, Valentine's Day is increasingly an event for groups and lone diners, with 24 per cent of single Brits contemplating going out by themselves this year.
The survey also revealed that the younger generation is ahead in celebrating the occasion, with 50 per cent of Gen Z, aged between 18 and 26, and 54 per cent of Millennials, aged between 27 and 42, planning to dine out compared to 35 per cent of Gen X and only 24 per cent of Boomers.
The data was sourced from more than one million diner reviews and tags labelling a restaurant as 'romantic'.
Robin Chiang, SVP of growth at OpenTable, said: "Valentine's Day is one of the most important dining moments in the UK and research suggests Brits will go all out this year, with 73 per cent planning to spend more or the same on a meal out than last year.
“Last year, more than half of reservations were made at least five days out, so book before February 9 to secure your favourite table.”
