An Oxfordshire man has been charged with multiple shoplifting offences and assault in Banbury, Thames Valley Police has confirmed.
Stuart Gordon, aged 50, of Middle Barton Road in Duns Tew, was charged via a postal requisition on Thursday (February 1) with seven counts of shoplifting and one count of assault by beating.
The charges relate to a series of incidents at Banbury Gateway, Banbury Cross Retail Park and Hopcrofts Holt between August 8 and November 6 last year.
Gordon was arrested on December 22, following an investigation by Thames Valley Police.
He has been bailed to appear at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, March 5.
Duns Tew, where Gordon is from, is a village around seven miles south of Banbury.
