A driver escaped without serious injuries after a crash left their car overturned on a main road.
Emergency services were called to a crash involving two vehicles today (January 25) at around 2:15pm closing the A420 between Watchfield and Faringdon.
It has since been confirmed three people were left with minor injuries with one sent to hospital for treatment.
Officials have warned the road is likely to remain closed for several hours due to a spillage from the incident.
A South Central Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "Thames Valley Police contacted us about this incident requesting our help, reporting there had been a two-car collision on the A420 at Great Coxwell, Faringdon, which had closed the carriageway in both directions.
"We sent two ambulances and a rapid response vehicle to the scene.
"Two patients were treated at the scene for minor injuries and a third required hospital treatment for minor injuries and was taken to the John Radcliffe."
An eyewitness, who asked to remain anonymous, said: “We could see the accident of an overturned car and what looks like another car slightly in the ditch.
“The police then closed the road and another member of the public advised us to turn around and take an alternative route as there was no way of getting through.”
A Thames Valley Police spokesperson said: "This was a minor injury collision at around 2.15pm on the A420, the road is currently closed due to a spillage."
Posting on social media, an Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue statement said: “The A420 between Little Coxwell and Watchfield is currently closed in both directions, due to an incident.
“This is likely to be ongoing for a number of hours. Please consider an alternative route.”
