UPDATE: Driver escapes with minor injuries after car overturns
Officials have warned the road is likely to remain closed for several hours.
An eyewitness, who asked to remain anonymous, said: “We could see the accident of an overturned car and what looks like another car slightly in the ditch.
“The police then closed the road and another member of the public advised us to turn around and take an alternative route as there was no way of getting through.”
Posting on social media, an Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue statement said: “The A420 between Little Coxwell and Watchfield is currently closed in both directions, due to an incident.
“This is likely to be ongoing for a number of hours. Please consider an alternative route.”
An AA update reads: "Road closed and queueing traffic due to crash, two vehicles involved on A420 both ways between the Longcot turn off and Fernham Road."
The Oxford Mail has approached Thames Valley Police, South Central Ambulance Service and Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue for more information.
