A 20-year-old man died after entering the River Thames near Donnington Bridge yesterday (Monday, January 15).
Thames Valley Police were called to a fear for welfare incident in Donnington Bridge Road following reports of a man entering the water.
A spokesman for the force said: “Tragically, a man, aged 20, was recovered from the river, but died at the scene.

“His next of kin have been made aware, and our thoughts are with them at this extremely difficult time.
“The man’s death is being treated as unexplained, but not suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
The emergency services were photographed standing on the banks of the River Thames below Donnington Bridge.
A fire service boat was also seen taking to the water.
