The Oxfordshire Civic, Community and Faith Leaders Group is set to host an event to remember those lost in global conflicts as part of a national effort by the Together for Humanity initiative.
The event, scheduled to take place at Oxford Town Hall, aims to unite communities through "friendship, understanding and peace".
The group's members will stand together to commemorate lives lost in conflicts across the globe, representing their commitment to fostering unity within Oxfordshire and the wider UK.
The event will comprise of a mixture of activities, including short prayers, readings, a moment of silence, music, and songs.
The Together Coalition, a collective of numerous organisations including the NHS, the Scouts and the Football Association, supports the initiative.
The event serves as a follow-up to a peace vigil held in November in Oxford's city centre, which saw a unified plea for peace from faith and civic leaders.
The founders of the Together for Humanity initiative have prepared a booklet for the event.
It contains messages of support from various Oxfordshire leaders across different sectors and backgrounds.
The event will take place at 3pm on January 21 with anyone interested in attending able to register for free tickets online.
The Oxfordshire Civic, Community and Faith Leaders Group is comprised of many representatives, including Cllr Susan Brown from Oxford City Council, the Venerable Jonathan Chaffey, Archdeacon of Oxford, Surinder Dhesi from Banbury Sikh Community and Layla Moran, MP among others.
