For the third year in a row, an Oxford hotel is giving away an overnight stay to beat the 'Blue Monday' blues.

The offer is worth £500 and gives the winner a stay at voco Oxford Thames on any weekend of their choice during this year.

Residents can now nominate themselves for the stay at the deluxe room accommodation at the historic College Hall in the Sandford-on-Thames hotel.

Alongside the location beside the river, the lucky winner will be treated to a dinner in Napiers, which offers seasonal dishes made from local produce.

The following morning, they will be served breakfast with a view of the river, which extends to the heart of Oxford City Centre.

Wendy Procter, Cluster general manager, said: "January can feel like a tough month for many people, so we have made this offer our tradition as a way of helping make January less gloomy.

"We hope to give someone in our community something to look forward to, for free."

Residents can nominate themselves by emailing Wendy.Procter@ihg.com, explaining why they think they deserve the free stay in under 200 words by January 31, 2024.

The winner, who gets to bring a guest of their choosing, will be selected randomly.
