A man in his 80s had his car roll on its side after skidding on ice in an Oxfordshire town.
Police were called to Arkell Avenue in Carterton this morning (January 10) at around 8.30am after receiving reports of the incident.
Officers thanked members of the public who were first on the scene including a lady who kept the driver talking, residents who supplied blankets to keep him warm, and a man who took his dog to a neighbour to be looked after.

The man suffered minor injuries following the single vehicle accident.
A Thames Valley Police statement said: "As importantly, we would like to thank the people who assisted greatly in the first response, this included a lady who kept the driver talking, residents supplying blankets to keep him warm and the gentlemen who took his dog to a neighbour to be looked after.
"To anyone else involved, thank you.
"This highlights some really good community spirit, and should be mentioned as a positive in 2024."
