The Seacourt Park and Ride is off Botley Road, an area which has been a particular victim of the recent county flooding.

There are five park and rides in total dotted across the city.

The city council also stated a self-fill sandbag station has been set up at the Redbridge park and ride lorry park accessed off Old Abingdon Road.

A statement from the council said: "If you require sandbags to protect your home from flooding, please visit the site.

"Water levels in Oxford are expected to peak over the weekend."

Closure of the full Seacourt car park facility comes amid disruption to other transport services.

Various routes across Oxford have been affected including bus services such as the cityX1/X3/35/46/11X which were not able to run through the flooded Abingdon Road.

A bicycle was photographed on Thursday at the Seacourt Park and Ride with its main body fully submerged under the water.

The car park is run by Oxford City Council and its extension was completed in April 2021, despite the concern of some councillors who suggested it should not have been built on flood plain land.
