A Cowley criminal who was caught with a curved sword has been jailed.
Peter Currie, 46, was in possession of the blade, which was longer than the legal length of 50cm, and a lock knife in Oxford on April 13.
Currie, of Rymers Lane, pleaded guilty to possession of both weapons when he appeared in Oxford Magistrates Court earlier this month.

He also pleaded guilty to stealing £60 worth of stock – including grocery items and an electric toothbrush - from Tesco in Cowley Road on February 3 and six bottles of Pimm's worth £132 from Templars Shopping Park on July 9.
Magistrates jailed Currie for two month and ordered him to pay £92 in compensation.
They also issued a forfeiture and destruction order for the weapons.
