Exclusive private members club Soho Farmhouse is upgrading its private cinema and creating a pergola to shelter guests enjoying an invigorating ice bath experience.

The courtyard in the middle of the farm's old industrial buildings was retained to act as the main gathering and socialising space, with the Main Barn at the centre.

Original stone buildings around the sides contain guest rooms, eating and dining areas and other facilities.

Parent company Soho House Group has applied to West Oxfordshire District Council for permission to make alterations to the courtyard buildings including single storey extensions which have already partly been built

The hospitality group also seeks to extend and build first-floor accommodation at the Teeny Barn, with timber clad walls with "panels of hay in-between".

Last month the estate, which hosted Megan Markle's hen do and is a favourite of neighbours the Beckhams, was granted permission to make some changes to its cinema which can seat up to 50 members in comfy velvet armchairs with drinks and nibbles.

Permission was granted for a ‘wraparound’ extension to two sides of the Electric Barn cinema, housing a two-lane bowling alley and three additional treatment rooms, in 2016.

The latest application is to change the timber windows to Crittall style steel-framed units and to add a detached pergola to provide cover for four outdoor ice baths.

There will also be a covered walkway link to the main Cowshed Spa building.
