Carterton Community Foodbank has received a donation of festive feasts from a housing company.

The donation from Platform Home Ownership comprised Christmas-themed food items, including Christmas pudding, custard, mince pies, selection boxes, and biscuits.

The total value of the donation has been matched by the housing association’s communities team.

The foodbank donation is part of the Platform's Christmas Kindness campaign, which was launched in 2020 amid the pandemic.

Lynn Little, co-chairman of Carterton Community Foodbank, said: "We’re extremely grateful for this generous donation from Platform, which will go a long way to ensuring that those who are less fortunate can get to enjoy some Christmas favourites this year."

The development company is soon introducing a new development in Carterton town, known as the Falcons, just off Milestone Road.

The Falcons will be Platform’s inaugural self-built site, offering homes under shared ownership and rent to buy schemes, enabling individuals to own a stake in their house while paying rent for the remainder.

Sabina Cox, marketing manager at Platform Home Ownership, said: “Here at Platform, we are passionate about giving back to the communities we serve, and hope to support the the Carterton Community Foodbank again in the future, along with other local charities and organisations.”
