An eagle-eyed observer who spotted several Oxford motorists making an illegal turn said it is “only a matter of time before someone causes an accident".
Phil Rose filmed five cars turning right from Jeune Street into St Clement’s Street in just 10 minutes last Friday morning (December 1).
He claims he saw 27 cars in total making the illegal turn and he sent footage of motorists seemingly disobeying the law to the Oxford Mail this week.

Mr Rose said drivers were breaking the rules of the road to avoid increased traffic around the Plain roundabout.
He blamed the extra congestion on the East Oxford Low Traffic Neighbourhoods implemented by Oxfordshire County Council in May 2022 and made permanent in October.
“People are doing this because they are sat in more and more traffic because of the LTNs,” he said.
“In a way, I completely understand why people are turning right when they’re not allowed because the traffic is horrendous.
“The county council really need to take a good look at themselves.
“I use the roads a lot and I’ve nearly been hit a couple of times with people pulling out of Jeune Street.
“It’s only a matter of time before someone causes an accident.”
The council plans to install LTN bollards in Jeune Street which will stop drivers turning either direction into St Clement’s Street.
