A young girls competition winning costume is on display at Blenheim Palace's festive reimagining of Sleeping Beauty.

Libby, age six, designed the outfit for one of the palace's mice models, beating hundreds of other hopefuls.

The miniature characters have been a central part of the palace's indoor Christmas theme for years.

Libby's costume, adorned with a Blenheim Palace crown, Christmas jewellery, and a rose for Sleeping Beauty, is displayed for thousands of visitors in the palace's state rooms.

Libby’s design was brought to life by Clare Elliot, an award-winning prop maker.

She has previously made models for Postman Pat and Wind in the Willows.

Ms Elliot, senior designer for Culture Creative, said: "Libby’s design was full of notes and instructions which kept me on my toes.

"The Blenheim Palace crown was what particularly stood out and I loved how she managed to incorporate Blenheim, Sleeping Beauty and Christmas into her mouse."

Libby's mouse, which she has named Sleeping Beauty, will be on display until New Year’s Day.

Afterwards, Libby will be gifted her mouse to keep.

In addition to this, Libby also won six tickets to the Christmas at Blenheim Palace preview event last month, an Afternoon Tea for six at The Orangery, a special goody bag from Hotel Chocolat, and a short break for up to six people.
