Contentious plans for almost 100 homes near Oxford will be decided this week.

The proposed development of 96 homes in Kidlington will be voted on by Cherwell district councillor’s planning committee at a meeting on Thursday (December 6).

The plans by Hill Residential have received multiple objections.

These include concerns from villagers about the increase to traffic and the impact of three-storey flats on the privacy of neighbours.

The Environment Agency has also objected due to the risk on the environment.

The plans are part of a wave of new developments in and around the village that have raised fears about the ‘Kidlington gap’ between Oxford being erased.

Almost 500 new homes were approved in Kidlington in October while plans for 540 homes near Yarnton have gone to a Government appeal.
