5k Charity Run in Reading
On Sunday 10th December there will be a 5k Santa run in Reading to support local charities. This is the 10th Festive event that has been organised by the Rotary Club.
The Reading Rotary Club said that this event aims to ‘‘bring health and social integration benefits through exercise in a safe and accessible environment’’. In addition to the main 5k run, a 2k junior run and walk will also be taking place to make the event more accessible to families and those in the community with limited mobility. This year’s run and walk will be taking place around the Reading University campus.
Approximately 600 participants are expected, and all entrants will be provided with Santa suits prior to the event. Local Charities and those benefiting from their support are encouraged to come along and raise money for their own causes by participating in this event. The funds raised are specifically applied to charities based in Reading and some overseas.
Please get your entries in before noon on Friday 1st December to ensure you have ample time to collect your race pack. The pack can be collected from the University car park any time from 10am till 4pm on Saturday 2nd December and each pack will include a Santa suit.
Registration will close at Midnight on Friday 8th December, however a Santa suit to your specified sizing is not guaranteed if entry is left this late. Under 5s must be accompanied by an adult (and be in festive wear if possible) and can take part in the 2k mini run for free.
‘’Raise funds for worthy causes’’ in this ‘’all-inclusive family event’’.
