A boxing club in Abingdon run by a former soldier is hosting white collar bouts next year and has big plans to expand its offering.
Based at Dalton Barracks, Spartans Elite Boxing Club has announced its next show will take place on February 3 with 10 to 15 fights taking place.
The community-focused club will also be hosting a further three shows at Abingdon’s Guild Hall and potentially a larger open air show next August.

Coach Jack Thomson-Anderson said: “At our white collar boxing event earlier this year we had 10 matches on.
“This year we’re hoping for even more, possibly up to 15. We’ve also got two novice title fights taking place, one of which is a heavyweight battle.
“We’re about to start our warm weather training camps over in Tenerife, and we want to bring fighters from there over to here to fight in the next show in February, or at the open air show at Abingdon United Football Club.
“It would be an international white collar boxing event.”
Head coach Alec Macdonald is a former European heavyweight kickboxing champion, who boxed for the Royal Engineers during his 10-year service in the army.
Both Mr Macdonald and Mr Thomson-Anderson undertake an endurance event each year where they run 50 miles over two days.
Mr Thomson-Anderson, who grew up in Blackbird Leys, said the club is looking for an Abingdon or Oxfordshire-based children’s charity to support.
Their charity runs have previously raised for the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.
