A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of carrying an offensive weapon.
The teenager was arrested this afternoon (November 14) following an incident in Banbury town centre.
The youth is in police custody and further details will be released when police are 'in a position to do so', the force said.
Neighbourhood officers were carrying out patrols as part of Operation Sceptre, a national knife crime awareness campaign and week of action for police forces across the UK.
TVP Cherwell wrote on Facebook: "Knife crime is a key focus of the team throughout the year.
"If you have concerns that somebody you know is carrying a knife please do report to us, or anonymously via Crimestoppers."
