A man in his 50s has been left in hospital with serious injuries after a silver Kia Niro crashed on the M40 near Oxford.
The vehicle left the northbound carriageway of the motorway near Junction 8 for Oxford on Saturday (November 11) at around 6.10pm.
The car stopped by the barriers near the hard shoulder.

The victim was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Headington, where he remains.
Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses to the serious injury collision.
Investigating officer PC Liam Calvert, of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to please come forward.
“Further, we would also appeal to any motorists who may have dash-cam footage of the area, to please check it in case it may have captured something that could assist the investigation.

Thames Valley Police, South Central Ambulance and Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue were all on scene after the crash.
National Highways Traffic officers also attended to assist with traffic management.
One lane remained closed on the M40 northbound until around 10pm after the carriageway was entirely closed between junctions eight and 8a until around 8.30pm.
Traffic was diverted via the A40 while the recovery work took place.
