Hundreds attended a fireworks event in Bicester with the display being started by a boy undergoing leukaemia treatment.
Pingle Field in the town was lit up over the weekend by a bonfire and fireworks display organised by Bicester Round Table.
This charity was founded more than 50 years ago to help like-minded people come together in the town.
This year, the switch to begin the fireworks display was flipped by five-year-old Ethan Foster, who was diagnosed with leukaemia when he was four.

Ethan’s mum Sophie Foster said: “He really enjoyed himself, and it was a really good evening.
“Round Table put a post out on Facebook asking for nominations for who should get to switch the fireworks on.
“We then got a letter to say Ethan had won.”
Ethan’s treatment is due to finish in December 2024.
