Plans for 200 new homes in Didcot are set to be proposed by a development company.

Obsidian Strategic intends to bring forward an outline planning application for the development to the south of Sires Hill.

As well as the homes, the company also wants to build a special education needs school on the land to the north-eastern edge of the town.

Obsidian has not confirmed when it will formally submit the plans.

The proposed development will be part of the Garden Town project, which will see 15,050 homes and 20,000 high tech jobs delivered in the greater Didcot area.

The site is also covered by the South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2035.

Obsidian has applied to South Oxfordshire District Council for a screening opinion, which gauges whether an environmental impact assessment is needed as part of the formal application.
