An assault which left its victim in hospital with serious facial injuries has led police to release images of three men they wish to speak to.

A man in his 20s was allegedly assaulted in Oxford at around 3.30am as three people are said to have punched and kicked him in New Road before stealing his Dsquared2 baseball cap.

The victim was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital for further treatment, where he remains.

PC Zack Trigwell, based at Cowley police station, said: "I am appealing to anybody who recognises these men to please get in touch with us as we believe he may have vital information about this assault.

“If you are any of the men pictured, please get in touch with police as soon as possible."
