The team, which plays at Oxford Ice Rink, has postponed its game tonight against Milton Keynes Thunder as a mark of respect.
General manager Shane Moor said: “We have mutually agreed with MK Thunder to postpone the game under such difficult circumstances.
"While our governing body, the EIHA, has chosen not to postpone games, we feel it is in poor taste to force teams to play.
“We stand with those who may feel uneasy playing under these circumstances.
“In light of this, we've made the decision with Milton Keynes Thunder, to reschedule our fixture as a mark of respect.
“We would like to express our gratitude to MK Thunder for their solidarity in this decision. Our thoughts are with Adam's family, friends, and teammates."
The game in Sheffield last night was stopped in the 35th minute as Mr Johnson received emergency treatment from paramedics on the ice.
Nottingham Panthers confirmed his death this morning and said it was “truly devastated”.
