Lucky residents from a care home near Bicester enjoyed VIP treatment when they were escorted to an annual classic car event.
Car enthusiasts at Launton Grange care home were thrilled to be taken to Bicester Motion’s Scramble event, where they were able to admire the classic cars on display.
Harry Witteridge, a 94-year-old resident, was especially excited to be chauffeured to the event by StarterMotor in an Austin Seven Nippy, a car which he owned in his youth.

Mr Witteridge said: “I loved the whole day. It made me feel so happy, and riding in the car was amazing. It really brought me back to my teenage years.”
When Mr Witteridge and the other residents arrived at Bicester Heritage for the Scramble, they were given the VIP treatment while they admired the classic cars on display.
Sara Reading, the Home Manager at Launton Grange, said: “Our residents’ faces were an absolute picture as they were driven away in the vintage cars, they were so happy.”
“We’re so grateful to be able to offer such wonderful experiences to our residents with the help of our community.”
Residents at the home are also inviting the community to their Halloween party, on Saturday, October 28.
All are welcome to dress up and join in with the activities.
Launton Grange is a residential and dementia care home located in Bicester and rated Good by the Care Quality Commission.
