A power cut affecting an Oxfordshire town was caused by a crash that took out a power line in the area.
Police were called to the incident in Carterton on Saturday (October 21) and closed the B4477 both ways from Alvescot Road to Kencot crossroads due to the fallen power lines.
The Scottish and Southern Electricity and Networks (SSEN) website showed the power cut happened in the impacted area around 4.45pm and was restored by 8am the following day (October 22).

A spokesperson for SSEN confirmed the power cut happened after a vehicle crashed into a power pole, but said police were "leading" the investigation into the incident that caused the power outage.
Thames Valley Police declined to comment when initially approached saying they do not give out information on road traffic collisions.
The Oxford Mail has since approached the force after it was learned the power outage was caused by the incident.
