A person suspected to be involved in hare coursing evaded police after a chase which included air support.
Officers attended a hare coursing in progress near Bampton in West Oxfordshire last night and pursued a car that made.
The banned sport uses hunting dogs - typically lurchers or whippets - to chase down and kill hares.

A vehicle, a silver Jeep Cherokee, that was expected suspected to be involved was spotted by officers but it then made off.
Despite the officer's efforts, the driver escaped across the nearby fields.
The search was then supported by the national police air service but the offenders were not found.
A Thames Valley Police spokesperson said: "Police constable Uren attended a hare coursing in progress near Bampton in TVP West Oxfordshire.
"The vehicle, a silver Jeep Cherokee; was spotted by PC Uren where it then made off.
"Despite PC Uren's efforts, the vehicle escaped across fields. PC Uren was supported by the national police air service and incident crime response in the area search for the offenders.
"Please report any incidents of hare coursing either by 101 or online or 999 if it is in progress."
