An English teacher who had struggled with drug use died at his home from complications linked to deep vein thrombosis, his inquest heard.
Martin Weatherill, 48, was found dead at his home in Egrove Close, Oxford, on January 30.
He was last seen alive some four days earlier.
Recording a conclusion of natural causes, senior coroner Darren Salter said: “He was discovered deceased in the living room on January 30, with evidence of drug use.”
However, a pathologist had found he died from a blood clot in his lungs, called a pulmonary embolism.
It was caused by a deep vein thrombosis, a blood clot in a vein.
