The 30-year-old carpenter, from Ludgershall in Wiltshire, was unresponsive when he was found at 4.55am.
His death was formally pronounced at 5.20am.
The medical cause of death was unascertained, his inquest heard.
Recording a narrative conclusion, a jury last week said: “On the available evidence we are unable to say the cause of Dominic’s death.”
Mr Burges’ inquest was heard by a jury, rather than a coroner alone, as he died in prison.
The Ministry of Justice was approached for comment.
