Prosecutors dropped charges against an alleged board games thief – who said it wasn’t him.
Antony Stevenson, 34, had been charged with stealing more than two dozen games in the Cards Against Humanity series, which sees players compete to find X-rated cards that can complete the most outrageous combination.
He was also accused of taking popular board games like Settlers of Catan and Trivial Pursuit.
The thefts were allegedly committed at the Oxford Waterstones in the second half of 2022. In total, the games are said to have been worth more than £1,000.

But on Monday (October 16) prosecutor Gavin Pottinger told Oxford Crown Court that the Crown Prosecution Service was offering no evidence after a review of the case.
The defendant Stevenson, of Widnes, Cheshire, was not in court to hear that the puzzle charges were being dropped.
Recorder Alexander McGregor recorded formal not guilty verdicts.
