TINASHE MUTERO, 29, of Torquay Road, Chelmsford, pleaded guilty to drink driving a Suzuki on Abingdon Road, Oxford, and driving it without valid insurance. Tests taken after Mutero was stopped on September 14 showed the driver had 78mcgs of alcohol in 100ml of breath, more than twice the legal limit of 35mcgs. Mutero was fined £240, banned from driving for 18 months and was ordered to pay £325 in costs and surcharge.

SIMON EDWARDS, 38, of Church Road, Sandford on Thames, admitted driving a Vauxhall Astra on Church Cowley Road, Oxford, on September 27 while disqualified from driving and uninsured. He also failed to provide a breath sample when requested to do so by a police officer. He was jailed for 20 weeks by District Judge Kamlesh Rana for what the court log noted was a ‘flagrant disregard for court orders’. He was banned from driving for five years and will have to pay a £154 victim surcharge upon his release from prison.

CAMERON ENGLISH, 20, of Hinton Waldrist, near Faringdon, pleaded guilty to damaging doors belonging to Advance UK in Oxford on May 15, 2022. The district judge ordered English pay £873.60 in compensation.

MICHAEL THOMPSON, 31, of Crowberry Road, Oxford, pleaded guilty to going equipped for theft and interfering with a vehicle. He was caught on Acacia Avenue on March 28 kitted out with a pair of pliers. The justices fined him £80 and ordered he pay £85 in costs.

BUSAYO AYENI, 50, of Barns Road, Oxford, was found guilty of sexual assault by touching of a woman in Oxford on October 13, 2021. The justices imposed a community order with 60 probation activity requirement days and up to 80 hours of unpaid work. He must pay £100 in compensation to the victim, who is prevented from contacting by a restraining order. He will be a registered sex offender for five years. The magistrates ordered Ayeni pay £195 in costs and surcharge.

INGRID BRIARS, 77, of Mill Lane, Wigginton, was found guilty of racially-aggravated disorderly behaviour. The offence dated back to August 2021 in Wigginton. Briars was fined £300, ordered to pay £75 in compensation and must pay £530 in costs and surcharge.

ANDREW ROSE, 29, of Market Street, Torquay, pleaded guilty to drug driving a BMW 320D on the A34 at Bicester. Tests showed he had cocaine and its metabolite, benzoylecgonine, in his bloodstream. He was fined £300 and banned from driving for a year, with his ‘special reasons’ advanced in the hope of avoiding a disqualification rejected. The court note said that there was no medical report and no defence witness to corroborate the claim he had been ‘spiked’. Rose was ordered to pay £270 in costs and surcharge.

LEVI BANCROFT, 21, of Grafton Yard, London, admitted assaulting a police sergeant in Abingdon on September 28 and possession of cannabis. He was fined £120, must pay £50 in compensation and was also ordered to pay a £48 victim surcharge.
