Oxford Bus Company will run a special Park & Ride service this Sunday to help people enjoy the Oxford Half Marathon.

There will be earlier and more frequent departures from Redbridge, Thornhill and Pear Tree Park & Ride.

The services will begin at 6:30am allowing runners, volunteers and supporters to travel to the city centre in time for the 9:30am start of the 13.1 mile-charity run.

There will also be additional return services to the Park & Ride sites between 11am and 3pm.

Travellers are advised to save time by purchasing a combined parking and return journey ticket via the RingGo app.

Tickets can be purchased in advance and are valid for 16 hours for 2 adults using one vehicle.

Luke Marion, Managing Director at Oxford Bus Company, said: “The Oxford Half Marathon is a fantastic event where runners representing many different charities run a scenic route across our city.

“In line with previous years, we are proud to support the Oxford Half and are increasing the frequency our Park & Ride services on Sunday morning to provide convenient and affordable travel to the city centre.

“We encourage runners and supporters to plan their journey in advance and check the timetables on the Oxford Bus Company website. We wish all the runners, volunteers and charities for the best for another successful event."
