The owner of an Oxfordshire catering company has reacted to being named the best in the country for the second year in a row.

Fingers and Forks picked up the Caterer of the Year at the Food Awards England 2023 at an event held in Birmingham this week. 

The Henley-on-Thames business owner said she was "thrilled" to win the award.

Owner of Fingers and Forks, Debbie Cadman said: “We couldn’t be more thrilled to have won this award for the second consecutive year.

"It’s a full team effort from our chefs, event planners, managers and front-of-house crew.

"From having been nominated again this year, to winning the regional category and then the overall award for England is brilliant.”

"Our mission, whether it be an elegant wedding, beautiful canapés reception or an exquisite dinner, is to create an event that exceeds our clients’ expectations."

Fingers and Forks is known for its à la carte offerings for all-sized events.

Head chef, Kevin Cadman said: ”I couldn’t be more proud of the food we produce.

"I’m passionate about food and hospitality, never compromising on the quality of our produce, ideas and ingredients.

"I’ve worked in the Oxfordshire area for more than twenty-five years and take pride in championing local, seasonal produce”.

The awards aimed to "recognise excellence across various categories, showcase the best food establishment that England has to offer and promote the country's industry, celebrating its diversity and quality".

The winners were selected based on the votes of the public, who nominated their favourite establishments across various categories, including Restaurant of the Year, Gastro Pub of the Year, and Fine Dining Restaurant of the Year and Best Street Food amongst others.

The Food Awards England 2023 aimed to "recognise excellence across various categories, showcase the best food establishment that England has to offer and promote the country's industry, celebrating its diversity and quality".

A spokesman for The Food Awards England 2023 said: "We received an overwhelming response from the public who nominated some fantastic establishments across the country.

"These awards are a testament to the passion and dedication of the country's food industry, and the hard work of those who provide exceptional culinary experiences to their customers.

The catering company has previously been recognised as a regional finalist for The Wedding Industry Awards 2018 and 2020, a finalist of The Food Awards England 2017 and regional winner 2019, and winner of The Food Awards Caterer of the Year and Regional Caterer of the Year 2022.
