Oxford Food Hub has announced model and influencer, Addis Miller, as their ambassador in the upcoming Oxford Half Marathon this Sunday.
On Sunday (October 15), 22 runners will take to the streets of Oxford to raise money for Oxford Food Hub.
In the last year, Oxford Food Hub saved 497 tonnes of food from ending up in landfill, sharing it with a countrywide network of front-line charities and community groups.

This is enough food for the charity to make 1.1 million meals.
The charity’s mission is both to reduce food waste and the associated carbon emissions, but also to alleviate food poverty.
Mr Miller, who grew up in Oxford, volunteered at the charity’s warehouse in Botley last week.
He said: “Growing up my family used to receive food from food banks supplied by the Oxford Food Hub, so when the opportunity arose to help support the Oxford Food Hub, I didn’t have to think twice.
"I’m a passionate runner and being an Ambassador at the Oxford Half is a way for me to authentically support and spread awareness to the Oxford Food Hub.”
“I really enjoyed volunteering in the warehouse and out delivering food on the van, it's nice to see the freedom everyone had to choose what food they wanted.
"It was also eye-opening to see how many organisations, charities, and people the Oxford Food Hub provides food support to on a daily basis.”
Chief executive officer at the Oxford Food Hub, Emily Smith said: “From his own experiences growing up, Addis completely appreciates the important role that our charity plays, providing free food to communities across Oxfordshire and it is wonderful to have his support.”
“We are so grateful to everyone who is running the Oxford Half to raise funds for Oxford Food Hub this year, and I am looking forward to cheering on everyone on the 15th.
"Thank you everyone who has already sponsored our runners, if anyone is able to spare a few pounds we are able to receive donations all year round via www.oxfordfoodhub.org/donate “
The Oxford Half Marathon is a ‘flat and fast’ 13.1-mile route through Oxford which will take place on Sunday this week.
The route begins in the city centre at Oxford’s Broad Street and passes through Old Marston River, the River Cherwell, and Oxford University’s Lady Margaret Hall before finishing on Parks Road.
The Oxford Half is set to start at 9.30am with around 13,000 signed up for the event.
Tickets are now sold out and runners are expected to arrive between 7.30 and 8.45am.
On-course entertainment is set to be provided for the event with numerous bands, choirs, DJs, and performers dotted along the route.
