Councillors will discuss ways to improve the county’s special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) services at an extraordinary meeting tomorrow (Friday, October 13).
Oxfordshire County Council will hold crunch talks at County Hall at 10am following last month’s damning report into the "widespread and systemic failings" in the county’s SEND provision.
Councillor Eddie Reeves, leader of the Conservative Group, has proposed a motion which makes several requests to council leader Liz Leffman regarding the council’s approach to the key service.

This includes ensuring that that SEND provision is a key priority in the future budgets of her administration and working closely with SEND families, cabinet colleagues and scrutiny chairs.
Following the report last month, the council admitted it had “let families down.”
Around 200 people are expected to attend a peaceful protest from 11am to 2pm in Bonn Square which has been organised by the group SEND reform England.
