An Oxford school has been named the independent girls’ school of the year.
Oxford High School picked up the accolade at the Independent School of the Year awards in London on Tuesday (October 10).
Headteacher Marina Gardiner Legge attended the awards ceremony which was hosted by Dr Helen Wright, Chair of the independent panel of judges who selected the winners from more than 700 nominations.

Guests and leading figures from across the sector also joined the celebrations of this the sixth year of the awards, which was introduced by Independent School Parent magazine.
Oxford High School is a private day school for girls on Belbroughton Road, off Banburt Road.
It was founded by the Girls' Day School Trust in 1875, making it the city's oldest girls' school.
