Environmental group Just Stop Oil claimed responsibility for the protest and identified 21-year-old Oxford biochemistry student Daniel Knorr and Norwich man Noah Crane, 18, as the pair who sprayed orange paint at the Radcliffe Camera.
Speaking before the protest, Mr Knorr said: “We are demanding that university leaders all over the country make a public statement calling on the government to end new oil and gas projects.”
