The cause of a woman’s death remains uncertain, three weeks after her body was found in her burned-out Oxford flat.
Opening her inquest on Wednesday afternoon (October 11), senior coroner for Oxfordshire Darren Salter said Jacqueline Keating’s body was found in a flat on Donnington Bridge Road, Oxford, on September 20 after a house fire.
Emergency services were called to the flat, which was part of an apartment block opposite Addison Crescent, shortly before 5.30am.
However, Ms Keating’s death was not verified until later that afternoon.
At the time, police said officers were treating the blaze as a possible arson.
A post-mortem had been carried out, but the cause of 59-year-old Ms Keating’s death is yet to be established ‘pending further analysis’.
Mr Salter said Ms Keating was identified at the scene by a detective constable from the Oxford Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
He adjourned the case until a full inquest on March 14.
