A man has appeared in court accused of arson after a front door was torched in Headington.
Christopher Baillie, 45, of Foresters Tower, Wood Farm, faced a single charge of arson with intent to endanger life when he was before the city magistrates’ court on Wednesday (October 11).
Prosecutors say he was responsible for setting fire to the front door of a property in Girdlestone Road on Friday night (October 6) in a seemingly random attack.

Baillie did not enter a plea to the allegation, which is so serious that pleas can only be taken at the crown court.
However, defence solicitor John Berry made it clear that his client denied the allegation.
He was remanded into custody by the magistrates and will appear in front of a circuit judge at Oxford Crown Court on November 10.
