A man in his 50s was found dead on Port Meadow yesterday (Tuesday, October 10), police have confirmed.
Emergency services were scrambled to the common after reports of the medical emergency.
Thames Valley Police was called at around 4.30pm yesterday and officers arrived to find the man was “sadly deceased.”

A spokesman said: “His next of kin are aware and they are being supported by officers. The death is being investigated as an unexplained, but non-suspicious death and a report will be provided to the coroner in due course.”
St Edwards School has confirmed that the deceased man was a member of staff and said it was a “great shock for all of us”.
Thames Valley Air Ambulance, South Central Ambulance Service, and Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service were also at the scene.
