A missing seven-year-old was recovered “safe and well” after an extensive police search in West Oxfordshire.
The child was found in the Carterton area by Thames Valley Police officers at some time in the evening or night yesterday (Tuesday, October 10).
It came after a substantial police operation with helicopters assisting in the search.

The force thanked those who had helped find the missing child.
A spokesperson said: “Tonight you may have seen a lot of local police activity, including the helicopter up above the Shilton park, and country park areas.
“Police were searching for a missing seven-year-old, who we are pleased to say has been found, safe and well.
“We would like to thank those residents, dog walkers and anyone else from the community who were looking out for the missing child, your efforts were most appreciated.”
