Police praised the victim of a paedophile RAF serviceman who faced down her abuser two decades on.
Stuart Taylor, 53, was found guilty last week of indecently assaulting the girl in West Oxfordshire in the early 2000s and remanded in custody until his sentencing next month.
Welcoming the conviction, DC Lucy McDonagh praised the victim for coming forward.
“This case serves to remind that despite the passage of time, offences of this nature will be investigated and perpetrators can expect to be dealt with, even decades later,” she said.
“I commend the strength and bravery shown by her to report these offences to police and to face him in court.”
The victim cannot be identified for legal reasons.
