A host of Oxfordshire villages will have 20mph proposals decided this week.

Oxfordshire County Council’s highways chief will decide whether to introduce the limits in several villages in the south, west and north of the county in a meeting on Thursday (October 12).

Councillor Andrew Gant will make a decision over 20mph proposals in Bloxham, a village near Banbury, and Lyneham, near Chipping Norton.

Several villages in southern Oxfordshire are also on the agenda, including Nuneham Courtenay, Drayton, Newington, Littleworth and Watchfield.

There is also a proposal to introduce 20mph limits on the Deanfield Green residential estate in East Hagbourne near Didcot.

Council officers have recommended that all the proposals are approved.

It is part of a long-running scheme by the council to reduce road deaths and serious injuries by replacing 30mph areas with 20mph areas where there is local support.
