An arrest has been made after Thames Valley Police had issued an appeal with a CCTV image in connection with a suspected arson attempt.
Thames Valley Police has been investigating an arson at a property in Girdlestone Road in Oxford on Friday evening.
At around 7.45pm on Friday, a suspect emptied a bottle, which is believed to have contained flammable liquid, at the front door and porch area of a property.
Following a CCTV appeal for a man police were looking to speak to, police confirmed at 6.30pm on Monday that an arrest had been made.
A statement said: "Officers have made an arrest in connection with an arson incident that happened on Girdlestone Road on Friday in Headington.
"A front door was set on fire. Thankfully no one was injured. Our CCTV appeal has been removed. Thanks to those who assisted."

The fire was quickly extinguished and no one was injured.
Civilian investigator Sophie Quainton, of Oxford Criminal Investigation Department (CID), earlier said: “We would like to appeal to anybody who recognises the man in this image to please get in touch as we believe he may have vital information about this arson.

“Alternatively, for 100 per cent anonymity, you can also call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
