New speed limits across Abingdon have come into force after a councillor apologised for the "funereal pace" of the contractor doing the rollout.
The 20mph and 30mph road signs are all in place around the town and surrounding areas as the new speed limits become legally enforceable today (Monday, October 9).
The limits will be 20mph in residential areas and 30mph on the ring road.

A few of the main routes into town will switch from 30mph to 20mph, including Drayton Road, Marcham Road, Wootton Road, Oxford Road, Radley Road and Audlett Drive.
Abingdon became one of seven communities to apply for 20mph limits and have this approved by the county council in April.
Other areas to see their applications approved were Cumnor, Faringdon, Forest Hill, Shrivenham, Steventon and Woodcote.
