Two people were taken to hospital after being attacked by a Staffordshire bull terrier at a park in Oxfordshire, police have confirmed.

Four people were injured, with two needing hospital treatment, after the Staffordshire bull terrier attacked a border collie at Smallbone Recreation Ground on Britwell Road in Didcot.

Police were called to the park last Wednesday (September 27) at around 10.30am with two men and a woman in their 50s and a man in his 20s left injured.

One of the men in his 50s and the woman required hospital treatment.

A Thames Valley Police spokesman said: “We received a report of a dangerous dog incident in Smallbone Recreation Ground in Britwell Road, Didcot, at around 10.35am on Wednesday (September 27).

“A dog attacked another dog and four people. Two men and a woman in their 50s and a man in his 20s were injured trying to separate them.

“Officers attended and seized the dog that attacked the other dog.
