Oxford United players won their first silverware of the season at the club's annual fun day at the Kassam Stadium.
Five first team players beat a team made up of U's fans in a penalty shoot-out to pick up the Oxford Mail's Spot On trophy.
Two thousand fans watched the team fire three penalties past youth team goalkeeper James Foster, while the fans could manage only two.
Season ticket holder Sean Cleaver, 22, from Sandfield Road, Headington, skied his shot over the bar before telling the Oxford Mail: "It was a shocking penalty. I was going to hit it down the middle, but it all went wrong.
"The nerves got to me - but it was really good to play on the pitch."
Hundreds of families at Saturday's fun day were also given their first glimpse of the new team shirt, which was modelled by Miss Oxford Mail, Lyndsay Fayle.
Miss Fayle, 17, from Denchworth, said: "The shirt is very bright. I will certainly be wearing it next season.
"There was a great turnout. Everyone seemed to enjoy it and there were a lot of people taking part in activities."
Younger fans were given the chance to play in five-a-side games on the Kassam pitch before they watched the first team training.
At 11.30am, a gigantic game of bingo saw Barney Smithboth corr win a new signed shirt.
The 14-year-old, from Maple Avenue, Kidlington, said: "I am very happy, but I was quite nervous when I stood up in front of everybody. The shirt is nice - it is better than the old one."
Fans were also invited to speak to the players, collect autographs or take photographs with replicas of the World Cup, FA Cup and Premiership trophies.
The Oxford Mail's bouncy castle was also on hand for the more energetic fans.
Paula White, from St Christophers Place, Cowley, said: "It has been brilliant. We love it every time we come here.
"It is a chance to see all the fans and the players."
Her grandson, Callum Rawlings, seven, added: "The best bit was playing football and meeting the players."
United's captain Barry Quinn said: "It was great to see so many people here. The penalty shoot-out was good fun.
"This is something the players always look forward to."
