The animals of an Oxfordshire zoo are set to become stars of the small screen on Sunday.

Cotswold Wildlife Park, near Burford, was home to a film crew from ITV for six months - and tomorrow the first part of a new documentary series will be aired.

The six-part series, called Park Life, will give viewers the chance to see behind-the-scenes action at the zoo.

Assistant curator Jamie Craig said: "It was a bit strange at first having the film crew with us and having them filming us doing things we do every day.

"But after a few weeks, we all got used to them and they became like a piece of the furniture. You got used to having them there and became a little less self-conscious. There were times when we were trying to film things very exactly, but when you're working with animals, that tends to go out the window."

He added: "It was great having people around that were genuinely interested in our jobs.

"They spent time with everyone, from trainee zookeepers, right up to the owner of the park."

The programme will be broadcast on ITV West tomorrow at 6pm, and available online at itvlocal.com/west
