Building work for the benefit of young people in Didcot was given a £600 boost by members of the town’s Round Table.
Vice-chairman Paul Morgan-Owen, centre, is seen presenting cheques for £300 apiece to Denis Standen, chairman of Didcot Arts and Community Association (DACA), and Michele Robbins, organiser of Didcot Youth Centre, in 1985.

The money, from the town’s annual bonfire and fireworks display and other fundraising events, was to go towards the conversion of Northbourne Centre, a former church, for DACA members and extensions to the youth centre in Park Road.
Didcot Youth and Community Centre is still based at Edmonds Park in Park Road.
